Biography for Vaughn E. Hartley: “I grew up in rural southwestern Pennsylvania, graduating from WVU in 1972 with a B.S. in wildlife management. I worked as a Park Ranger, a Resource Manager, and my final career will be the Facilities Director at West Virginia Wesleyan College.
“I always had a love of the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and observing the wide variety of birds in our area. The texture and colors of their feathers are a study of nature at her finest. I have enjoyed trying to recreate birds and animals using the simplicity of watercolor, a challenging and rewarding endeavor.”
